A 14 months post Doctoral position is avalaible on mechanical and numerical modeling fields. This is a join project between Univ. Paris 7 (ITODYS lab) & Paris 13 (LSPM lab).
The present postdoc subject is focussed on dislocation dynamics computation in Al. crystals.

为延揽海外优秀人才,北京理工大学定于2015年10月再次赴美国举办人才招聘, 具体安排如下:
10月27日 周二 下午 15:00-17:00 德州农工大学(Texas A&M Univerisyt)宣讲 Rundder Complex, 401 Joe Routt Blvd, College Station, TX 77843
与同时在Texas A&M Univerisyt召开的SES (Society of Engineering Science) 2015 年会 会场 相邻。 欢迎远道而来的各届与会同胞来参加我校宣讲会。
A short heads up: we will open soon at least one professorship in computational and data sciences at the University of Luxembourg. Applications from leading academics in Computational Mechanics will be, in particular, welcome.
Stay tuned on this blog and: http://www.legato-team.eu

With respect to material design, in particular, smart material design with specific functionalities, we may be able to learn something from our peers in electrical engineering. In integrated circuits (IC), we have up to one billion basic units such as capacitors, inductors, and resistors. However, we know exactly where they are and what they do. How does this happen?
Dear iMechanicians,
I'm posting the following job opening in the University of Alabama in Huntsville, on behalf of the Search Commitee.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Department of Mechanical Engineering seeks candidates for faculty positions starting in September 2016 or thereafter. Appointment will be at the assistant or untenured associate professor level. In special cases, a senior faculty appointment will be considered. We seek candidates who will provide inspiration and leadership in research, contribute proactively to both undergraduate and graduate level teaching in the Mechanical Engineering department and add to the diversity of the academic community.
We have two research positions, available in November 2015, in the area of micromechanics of advanced structural steels. The first one is a post-doctoral research fellow (RF) position. An ideal candidate for this position must possess a PhD in mechanical engineering or related field with a strong background in computational materials mechanics. Experience of developing mesoscale methods such as dislocation dynamics or crystal plasticity and mesoscale fracture mechanics will be a definite plus.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor.
The Department is looking for exceptional individuals in all areas of mechanical engineering, with particular emphasis on i) soft robotics, including soft body design and mechanics, sensing and actuation, and ii) micro/nano science and technology, including micro/nano additive manufacturing, micro/nano robotics, and micro/nano energy sensing and heat transfer.
In response to a number of requests, the abstract submission deadline for the EMI 2016 / PMC 2016 Conference at Vanderbilt University has been extended to October 31, 2015.
The event is actually two co-located conferences: the Engineering Mechanics Institute Conference 2016 (EMI 2016) and the Probabilistic Mechanics & Reliability Conference 2016 (PMC 2016). The event wil be chaired by Prof. Sankaran Mahadevan and Prof. Caglar Oskay, both of Vanderbilt University.
