Job Description & Specifications:
The school of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NTU, is seeking for potential candidates for research positions as Research Assistant and Research Fellow.
The RA/RF will work on a project of monitoring of offshore structures such as Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels.
The roles of this positions include:
· Develop and integrate suitable fibre optic sensing and monitoring system for FPSO hull structures.
· Design and fabricate the prototype models for experimental tests in the laboratory, and analyse the experiment data.
· Field test of the monitoring model for identified FPSO structures and acquire the monitoring data.
· Develop numerical simulation model using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and assess the health condition using the monitoring data and the numerical simulation results.
· Develop data processing software for condition assessment of hull structures.
· Write project reports and scientific research papers for publication, attend and present the research outcomes in relevant meetings/conferences.
Job Requirements:
(Educational Qualifications, Skills, etc.)
· Bachelor/Master/PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
· Knowledge of structural engineering, offshore engineering, fatigue analysis, etc.
· Knowledge and experience in FEA modelling (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.)
· Knowledge and experience in software programming (Matlab, etc.),
· Knowledge and experience in design and fabrication of the experiment prototypes, and experimental test of the prototypes using various experiment equipment (Data acquisition system, analyser, Laser vibrometer, etc.)
· Previous working experience in offshore structures is an advantage.
· Publication track record is an advantage.
· Proficiency in English
