Subroutine DFLUX in ABAQUS

Submitted by Frank Richter on

Dear Mechanicians,

time and again the question of modeling moving heat sources pops up, often in the context of laser heating.

One can achieve this using the subroutine DFLUX in ABAQUS.

I decided to post some links here to avoid responding with a longer explanation to every individual seeking assistance.

Please note that I have never worked with any one of these codes and have no access to ABAQUS at present.

No warranty is given by me.

About Dstran or Stran of cohesive element in ABAQUS

Submitted by YuYong on

Sir,
I want to ask you a question,
I debug a constitutive model about the cohesive element in ABAQUS.
You know the key point of this element's constitutive model is Traction-Seperation Relationship.
I want to test my model by Umat, not the Uel.
So I want to ask whether Stran is the relative displacement(not strain) of the Gauss point in this type element.
And how Dstran is calculated by UEL subroutine!!!

abaqus multi scale modeling

Submitted by palizvan on

hi

I'm a beginner in abaqus and I started to simulate an multiscale analysis, I model both micro and macro scales and even homogenization part for micro scale outputs, but I couldn't perform a relation between two scales. i know the parts of the code, but i can't call python from fortran subroutine.

could any expert guide me how to overcome this problem? i want to know if i can find any template or simple implementation of multi-scale modeling in abaqus?
