hello,
I am a mechanic eng. M.S student with interest on material science-energy-applied mechanic and the fields like this.
could anyone tell me what are the recent projects are doning in fuel cell field? are the people doing structural mechanical research on fuel cells and etc?
as projcet going to be done at 2011 what are the newest topics?
Professors Mike Adams and Walter Herzog are the latest speakers to be announced, joining Professors Alfons Fisher and Greg Sawyer as key speakers during ICoBT 2011. For more information, go to http://www.biotribologyconference.com/speakers.asp
Dear all,
I am doing a fracture analysis of composite beam using ANSYS please let me know about the type of elemnt that i should use for meshing?
thanks in advance
Job description
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Computational Solid Mechanics Laboratory
(CSML) in the Division of Physical Sciences and Engineering at King Abdullah University of
Science and Technology (KAUST). Candidates with experience in one or more of the following
research areas are encouraged to apply:
(1) Constitutive modeling of materials (metals, biological tissues, polymers, gels, soft active
materials, …etc.)
Dear all,
I am doing 3d modal analysis using Ansys. When I checked the "Effective Mass-EM" for rotational dof, it is very large compared with total mass of the model. can you share your ideas for this question.Run simulation upto 90% of EM in all dof or only in translation dof or only for 2 translation dof (any rule of thumb)?
Thanks in advance.
Dear All,I am studying cyclic loading, Plasticity and metal ratchetting. All the publication related to these topics mention about backstress. Please somebody explain me what is the backstress. Could you please suggest me a reference to learn fundamentals?bandula
Hello,
I would like to combine Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) with cohesive behavior in Abaqus to model bulk damage as well as interlaminar damage in a material.
Section 10.6.1 of the Abaqus 6.9 Analysis Users Manual says that XFEM "can be simultaneously used with the surface-based cohesive behavior approach or the Virtual Crack Closure Technique, which are best suited for modeling interfacial delamination."
Does anyone know if XFEM can be combined with element-based cohesive behavior?
Thank you,
Meghan
Hi!!!
I am doing the modal analysis of a tapered cantilever beam with an lumped mass at the free end
I meshed with beam 188 and difine the crossection as rectangular at the both ends by SECTYPE,SECDATA command.
But how to connect the mass element at the free end?
I hv also gone through the VM34 example given in ANSYS help.
Please suggest.
