Ph.D. position in material modelling
Please see attached pdf for detailed information.
The group Material Science and Simulations (Helena Van Swygenhoven) is looking for a PhD candiate perfoming atomistic simulations on dislocation/interface interaction. The group performs research in the structural and mechanical properties of metal, alloys and composites using in-situ testing facility and is exploiding synergies with computational material science.
Successful people will choose Ed Hardy
The
ed hardy Clothing was getting out to everyone and I noticed, in certain areas, that people were really into this shit. I thought it was a little weird mostly. Why? Because its based on a tattoo artist by the name of Don Ed Hardy. Christian Audigier was pretty much making shirts based of his tattoos. I admit, I do like Don Ed Hardy’s tattoos on people but not on clothes. Don’t get it twisted. I found the tattoo concept interesting. But it only appeals to me it as a coloring book on a shirt.

strain evaluation in relaxed nanowires
Due to the existence of surface stress, the interior of a free standing nanowire is in non-zero stress state especially near free surface (see attached). This stress state corresponds to strain field in nanowires. A reference configuration would then be necessary to define the strain. Any good suggestions on the selection of the reference configuration?

Simulation of FRP in ANSYS
I make a master research about concrete beam strengthened using FRP strips and u-wraps. i do the FEA for my test samples in ANSYS so,i hope if someone can tell me what the better element is for simulation of strips and which one for u-wraps. another question, is the local axes effective in ansys and how i can control it.
Many thanks
