The inaugural JMPS Young Investigator Award was announced on 1 September 2026.
The 2026 JMPS Young Investigator Award is awarded to:

JMPS congratulates the recipients of the inaugural Young Investigator Award and the authors of the papers receiving Special Mention on their outstanding contributions to the mechanics and physics of solids.
About the Award
The JMPS Young Investigator Award recognises outstanding research published in the Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids by researchers at an early stage of their careers.
The award is open to papers accepted for publication in JMPS during the 12-month period preceding 1 July of the year in which the award is announced. To be eligible, all authors of the paper must, as of 1 July of that year, either be within 10 years of the date on which their PhD was awarded, as recorded on their PhD certificate; or not yet have been awarded a PhD.
