announces the competition for the following professorial position within
Activity 2 of the Doctoral Studies and Internationalisation Programme DoRa:

Professor of Mechatronics Instrumentation at the Department of Mechatronics, TUT

Scope of activities in the Department of Mechatronics is: mechatronics, machine science, metrology and quality engineering.

Main
research interests lie in Proactive Mechatronic and Production Systems,
supported by three research laboratories: Mechatronics-robotics,
Machine Elements and Machine Mechanics, and Metrology. Focus is on the
autonomous and industrial robot based mechatronical systems,
metrology-quality engineering and machine elements-systems reliability

Job description:

A professor is a leading teaching staff member in the respective area and an
internationally recognized scientist whose principal task shall be organizing
the teaching of their subjects, directing research and development activities
as well as ensuring academic staff renewal. In principle, a professor’s
teaching and organizational performance shall be evaluated through the results
obtained in doctoral (PhD) and master’s studies, that also being an essential
component providing evidence of scientific competence. All the work will be
done under internationalization programme DoRa.

Requirements for the candidate:

General
responsibility for research and research education, teaching and
supervision at graduate and postgraduate level and teaching at advanced
and basic level. Participation in leadership and administrative roles of
laboratory projects involving responsibility for budgets and personnel
may be relevant. Demonstrated ability to attract external grants will be
expected. Previous experience gained from research in industry or the
public sector will be particularly relevant. The applicant should be
able to demonstrate good leadership skills and high capability of
cooperation. High level expertise on the use of Engineering Design
methods in mechatronics, practical and theoretical knowledge of
mechatronics research methods, including respective modelling and
simulation techniques, including CAE methods.
