Position in Industry - Research Scientist Computational Modelling
Currently we, Huntsman (Europe) BVBA, are looking for a Research
Scientist Computational Modelling at our Everberg offices close to Brussels,
Belgium.

Purpose
The purpose of the global Polyurethanes CoreScience team is
to support market growth and new business opportunities, through development
and invention of science in the area of computational physics, multi phase
chemistry, advanced polymer and surface sciences. The Computational Modeller
will play a leading role within the Computational Physics group in the
CoreScience team and will be a crucial member of a dynamic multi-cultural,
global and innovation-driven research team which applies the very latest know-how
and techniques in computational physics, materials science and advanced
material characterisation. The role offers substantial scope to develop
international relationships internally and externally in order to add value to
the organisation.
Principal Accountabilities
• Design and execute research programs
• Identify and evaluate innovative
opportunities to develop new and smart materials
• Collaborate with universities and
commercial knowledge providers
• Contribute to the short and medium term
technical support of the Strategic Marketing Units and business development
teams
• Document research results and
conclusions in presentations and technical reports
• Critical evaluation of relevant patent
applications and scientific publications
Requirements
• PhD (or equivalent) in physics or
material science with preferrably some relevant experience in any of the
following areas: understanding of fundamental phenomena in polymer physics,
polymers and composites, rheology, kinetics, non-linear viscoelasticity,
acoustics and modern advanced material characterization
• Experience in mathematical programming
(FEA, Finite Elements Analysis and CFD, Computational Fluid Dynamics) is an
asset
• Initiative taker with scientific
curiosity
• Excellent project management skills
• Innovative teamplayer with good
communication and networking skills
• Excellent IT and programming skills
• Proficient in English; knowledge of one
or more other European language(s) is an asset
