New York City renewable energy startup seeking mechanical engineer/materials scientist to assist in the development of highly novel flexible structures to harness the kinetic energy of flowing water.
Relevant desired experience is in solid mechanics, non-linear systems, multistability, pliant mechanisms, and the utilization of elastic materials in mechanical systems. Candidate located in NYC area a plus but not essential. Part time consulting work to start.
Primary tasks:
- Specify polymeric materials for experimentation
- Evaluate material behavior under experimentation
- Participate in the fabrication of prototypes and/or
Evaluate behavior of prototypes
