The post is for a Lecturer in Computational/Theoretical Solid Mechanics.
The applicant's research should be of high quality within this field.
The post-holder is to (i) undertake research in the area of finite
deformation computational and theoretical inelastic solid mechanics,
(ii) teach on undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the area of
structural and/or geomechanical engineering, (iii) ability to seek and
win new research awards, (iv) work closely with existing School
academics in the area of computational mechanics and High Performance
Computing, (v) collaborate with other researchers in the University (for
example, mathematicians and scientists).
Candidates will need to demonstrate a contribution to original research.
This will be revealed, for example, through publications in leading
journals, international conference presentations, prizes or awards, and
knowledge and understanding of the relevant research area at the
frontier of the subject.
Please note that interviews for this post are scheduled to take place mid - late July 2011.
