Post Doc Position: EPSRC – Software Programmer at the University of Exeter, Numerical Prediction of Moisture Damage in Asphalt

Overview

A 24 Month Post Doctoral position is available at The University of Exeter (www.exeter.ac.uk) for a software developer in a Research and Development role to develop image processing tools under the auspices of an EPSRC grant. This is a joint project with TU Delft and De Montfort University. The work at Exeter will be in close collaboration with software company Simpleware Ltd (www.simpleware.com).

Knowledge, experience, skills, and competencies

•    PhD in Computer Science or Engineering (in exceptional circumstances appropriate candidate without a PhD may be employed)
•    good English
•    good knowledge of C++ is required
•    knowledge of Linux would be a plus
•    knowledge of VTK, ITK, wxWidgets, Visual C++ would be very appreciated (ideal candidate)
•    self-motivated and able to work on own initiative whilst being a team player
•    ability to work in a flexible environment

Financial Remuneration

Circa £32 000 annum
Duration:  24 months (possible employment with partner company Simpleware Ltd.  after end of project)
