Post Doc Position: British Heart Foundation – Software Programmer at the University of Exeter

Novel use of nonlinear microscopy and image-based modelling to determine the relationship between structure and function in small arteries and veins in health and diabetes.

Overview

An 18 Month Post Doctoral position is available at The University of Exeter (www.exeter.ac.uk) for a software developer in a Research and Development role to develop image processing tools under the auspices of a British Heart Foundation grant. The work will be in close collaboration with Simpleware Ltd (www.simpleware.com).

Knowledge, experience, skills, and competencies

•    PhD in Computer Science or Engineering (in exceptional circumstances appropriate candidate without a PhD may be employed)
•    good English
•    good knowledge of C++ is required
•    knowledge of Linux would be a plus
•    knowledge of VTK, ITK, wxWidgets, Visual C++ would be very appreciated (ideal candidate)
•    self-motivated and able to work on own initiative whilst being a team player
•    ability to work in a flexible environment

Financial Remuneration

£32 000 annum


Duration:  18 months (possible employment with partner company Simpleware Ltd.  after end of project)
