We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with experience in any/several of the following fields: Computational Continuum and Structural Mechanics, Tissue Mechanics, Cardiovascular Fluid and Solid Mechanics.
Background: The coronary circulation supplies blood to the heart. The flow in the coronaries is highly affected by the contraction of the surrounding heart and is regulated to match oxygen demands under physical activity, by a number of control mechanisms. This capacity to regulate the flow is severely compromised in coronary pathologies such as hypertension, atherosclerosis and diabetics. Our objective is to develop a theoretical/numerical platform to analyze the mechanical effects of cardiac contraction and of the control mechanisms on the dynamic coronary flow in health and disease. . Candidates are kindly requested to submit the following information: i) a cover letter highlighting research interests and potential match for the above-mentioned research areas, ii) a copy of Curriculum Vitae (including publications and past experience), and iii) the names and contact information of 3 references. Material should be sent electronically to: yoram [at] bm.technion.ac.il (yoram[at]bm[dot]technion[dot]ac[dot]il)
