Professor Sukky Jun (1965-2012)
On 22 March, 2012, Professor Sukky Jun of the University of Wyoming passed away, after a battle with cancer. Sukky was 47 year old, and we mourn his premature death. We have lost a talented young researcher, whom the computational mechanics community just began to know. Professor Sukky Jun graduated from Yonsei University, Korea, with a BS degree in Physics. Sukky came to US in 1990, and he got a Master degree from Michigan State University with Professor Iwnia M. Jasiuk in 1992; and in 1996, he obtained a PhD degree from Northwestern University under the tutelage of Professor Wing Kam Liu. Within his short career, Professor Sukky Jun has made excellent contributions to computational mechanics, in particular, meshfree methods, atomistic and multiscale simulations, and mechanics and physics of graphene. Sukky will be missed by all of us, and even more by his family. He is survived by his wife, Gina Park, and his daughter, Jennifer Jun.

It reminds me a Chinese
It reminds me a Chinese poem.
对酒当歌,人生几何?
璧如朝露, 去日苦多。
