Job opportunity with MEMC Electronic Materials Inc.

MEMC Electronic Materials Inc specializes in the production of semiconductor silicon wafers.MEMC’s subsidiary company SunEdison manages the development,financing,operation,and monitoring of solar power plants for its customers.The Quantitative Silicon Research (QSR) group within MEMC intends to hire motivated experts in structural analysis,and with familiarity in computational fluid flow dynamics.Strong background in computational solid mechanics, failure analysis of materials and structures, microstructural materials modeling, non-linear/inelastic materials modeling, multiphysics systems and modeling and familiarity with CFD modeling and analysis is needed. The candidate is expected to have/develop experties with structural analysis and flow simulation softwares, such as ANSYS, MARC, FLUENT and CFX.Prior knowledge of these software is desired but not necessary.QSR does not expect the candidate to be an expert in all of the described fields, but expects her/him to have the capability to become an expert in those fields in a short period of time.

Since the job is intellectually demanding, candidates with doctorates in quantitative science or engineering are encouraged to apply.  Industrial experience is not necessary.  The job position, title, and compensation will depend on the candidate’s expertise and can vary from Research Scientist, an entry-level position for a candidate with a doctorate to Senior Fellow, the highest technical position.
