Submitted by stefanhartmann on

There is an open
position at the Institute of Applied Mechanics of the Clausthal University of
Technology (Germany) for a

                      Research Assistant or PostDoc

(TVL-E13 full time position, for 2 years).

The NTH (Niedersächsische Technische Hochschule, Germany) funds a collaborative research project
located at the Universities in Braunschweig, Hannover and Clausthal. The
project is entitled "Development of
numerical homogenization methods in the framework of powder compaction with
considerations of uncertainties
". The Division of Solid Mechanics at
the Clausthal University of Technology looks for a Research Assistant (or
PostDoc) having a Master degree (or an equivalence) in the areas of Mechanical or
Civil Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related studies. Knowledge in the
field of Continuum Mechanics or Computational Mechanics is obligatory.

The principle tasks are

  • Development of analytical homogenization methods
  • Development of a constitutive model at finite strains
  • Implementation of the constitutive model into inhouse finite element programs

We offer the possibility to obtain a doctoral degree. Very good linguistic skills
in English are required. German would be helpful.
The
University aims to increase the number of women and asks qualified women to
apply for this position.
