Call for Mini-symposium Proposals and Call for Abstracts for PACAM XIV

The Fourteenth Pan American
Congress of Applied Mechanics (PACAM XIV) will be held in Santiago, Chile from
March 24th to 28th, 2014, in collaboration with Universidad de Chile
and Universidad de los Andes.

The following is the list of
plenary speakers:

David Steigmann, University of California,
Berkeley.

- Charles Meneveau, Johns Hopkins University.

- Kumbakonam Rajagopal, University of Texas
A&M.

- Raymond Ogden, University of Glasgow.

- Professor N. Sukumar, University of California,
Davis.

We invite you to submit an
abstract on a relevant topic in Applied Mechanics such as: Solid Mechanics,
Fluid Mechanics, Continuum Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Vibration and
Dynamics, and Control, as described in the conference page http://pacamxiv.org/organizers/. The
deadline to submit abstracts is November 15th, 2013. The abstracts
can be uploaded in http://pacamxiv.org/submit-abstract/
after you create a username and a password. A copy of the abstract will be sent
automatically to your email address after submission. The abstract must be less
than 300 words (considering Times New Roman 12 points characters) including
references (if necessary) but excluding the title and information about the
authors.
  
The invitation is also open to anyone who is interested in organizing a mini-symposium
in an area pertaining to Applied Mechanics as described in the congress webpage. 
The interested person should contact directly any of the members of the local organization
committee listed below. As mini-symposium organizer you will invite the
speakers of your choice to the session. Additional contributions may be
uploaded by other researchers; you will have the possibility of accepting the
abstracts submitted to your session. The deadline for submission of the
mini-symposia proposals is August 14, 2013.
