2 Post Doctoral/Research Associate Positions in Computational Polymer Sc at the Indian Inst of Technology Kanpur

Applications are invited for two
postdoctoral research associate positions for
a project funded by the Boeing Co., USA, which is being executed jointly by the
Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry Departments of Indian Institute of
Technology Kanpur. The project involves performing extensive large scale
ab-initio and Molecular Dynamic computations on certain high performance polymers
with a view to understanding their mechanical properties. The research groups
involved in the project have excellent computational facilities for carrying
out these computations. Moreover, both groups have extensive research
experience in relevant areas.

Qualifications and Experience desired: Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or
Engineering with experience in performing large scale MD and/or ab-initio
calculations. It will help if the candidate also has a background in Polymer
Physics. Exceptional candidates without a Ph.D. may also be considered if they
possess experience in the areas mentioned above. The candidate will be expected
to coordinate between the groups and function in an inter-disciplinary
environment.

Salary Range: INR.
22000-2200-44000. Additionally, on campus accommodation may be provided.

The post is purely temporary, and is currently for a duration of
one year. Extension beyond a year (upto 3 years) is expected but depends on
