The Mechanical Engineering Department at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) is seeking applicants for permanent appointments at Assistant or Associate Professor ranks in all disciplines of Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, the department has openings, starting in January 2014, for one-year visiting positions at all ranks and all disciplines, including design and manufacturing, dynamics and control systems.
The ideal candidate must have potential to develop a strong research program and be capable of teaching courses in his or her area of expertise, in addition to mechanical engineering core courses. Faculty members in the department are active in different research areas, e.g., energy, CFD, materials and manufacturing, autonomous systems, mechatronics and robotics. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and earned doctorates in mechanical engineering. Strong preference is given to candidates with degrees (BS, MS and/or PhD degrees) from western-style universities that are ABET- (or equivalent) accredited.
