Open position in biomechanics/continuum mechanics for research assistant

There is an open position at the Institute of Applied Mechanics of the Clausthal University of Technology for a

Research Assistant

(grant is given by the GIF - German-Israeli-Foundation for Scientific Research and Development - for 3 years).

Within the collaborative research project "Vasoreactive response of the skeletonized distal internal thoracic artery and bifurcation branches: Application for CABG" the Division of Solid Mechanics at the Clausthal University of Technology looks for a Research Assistant having a Master degree (or an equivalence) in the areas of Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related studies. Knowledge in the field of Continuum Mechanics or Computational Mechanics is obligatory.

The principle tasks are
•    Development of analytical homogenization methods
•    Development of a constitutive model at finite strains for representing the anisotropic behavior of the arteries' active response
•    Implementation of the constitutive model into a finite element program

We offer the possibility to obtain a doctoral degree. Very good linguistic skills in English are required. German would be helpful.
The University aims to increase the number of women and asks qualified women to apply for this position.
Please send your application with your CV and certificates in written form or by email until the 31st of October 2013 to:
