Postdoctoral Position Opening in Computational Mechanics at UC Berkeley

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available immediately in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California-Berkeley. This position may be renewable (up to three years) depending on funding availability and performance. The main responsibility of the project, sponsored by Army Research Office, is to perform computer simulations of blast load on geotechnical materials, such as soil, sand, and rocks by using a multiscale peridynamics method. It also involves multiscale modeling of failures of geotechnical materials. A person who has a PhD degree in computational mechanics, or in related fields such as mechnical engineering, civil engineering, and aerospace engineering with strong background and ability in numerical computations such as finite element methods or meshfree methods is encouraged to apply. Anyone who is interested in the position please write and send your CV to: Professor Shaofan Li at shaofan@berkeley.edu
