Recent paper on defective nanotwinned boundaries in Cu

In a recent paper [Y. Morris Wang, Frederic Sansoz, Thomas LaGrange, Ryan T. Ott, Jaime Marian, Troy W. Barbee Jr. and Alex V. Hamza, "Defective twin boundaries in nanotwinned metals", Nature Materials 12 (2013) 697], we demonstrate that strenght and ductility in coherent, nanotwinned Cu is governed by kink-like defects at the twin boundaries.
