Postdoctoral Associate in Computational Mechanics
The Computational Physics Group within the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Notre Dame is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a Postdoctoral Associate position in Computational Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will be a key part of a team that is developing and implementing adaptive, multi-scale, high-performance (parallel) computational algorithms for numerical solutions of chemo-thermo-mechanical PDEs, with an emphasis on complex heterogeneous materials, such as heterogeneous reactive composites, etc.
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related engineering or science discipline
- Knowledge of computational nonlinear mechanics and numerical methods
- Knowledge of mechanics of materials, plasticity/damage and integration algorithms
- Knowledge of C/C++ and UNIX operating systems
- Experience with parallel programming
