The successful candidate will provide academic leadership in research and teaching contributing to the School’s diverse engineering portfolio and will pursue a research programme of international excellence.
 
You will be researcher of international standing. You will have published a significant number of papers in high-quality international journals and have gained considerable research funding from competitive sources. Your research will have been taken up by other academics and by industry.
 
The post is open to any area of structural engineering or computational mechanics but applications from those with a background in civil engineering structural mechanics would be particularly welcome.
 
You will also be a good manager of people and someone who is able to network effectively with other academics as well as with those outside the academia.  
 
You should be an able lecturer who can teach undergraduate and postgraduate students efficiently and effectively.
 
The post requires someone who can show a high level of commitment to the Cardiff School of Engineering.
 
Salary: Reader - £56,482 - £58,172 per annum (Grade 8)

Professorial – appoint on the Professorial scale minimum £65,622
