NATURAL FREQUENCY through ABAQUS CAE of I-40 BRIDGE,RIO GRANDE
I Have got a problem. I am trying to replicate of finding out "Natural frequency of the I-40 Bridge over Rio grande" results which was done and reported by C.R.Farrar et al. I tried the way he proceeded but not matching with the results I got from Abaqus.
So. I tried to model a sample W40 x 328 I-section beam which was done by author too. Even that also ended in vain. I am getting low frequency values in all the cases of modelling as mentioned by author. I checked the material properties and meshing.He specifically mentioned free boundary conditions which I understood it as no supports for the beam. All units being in FPS system I entered the same in modelling.Not getting the results and could not figure it out where I gone wrong in modelling.
I am attaching the original document(extracted only those pages needed) and my .cae file.Could anyone go through the results and figure out the my mistakes?
