The Department of Mechanical Engineeringat the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. CU Denver is Colorado’s number one research funded university, offering comprehensive programs for undergraduate, graduate and health sciences students on two campuses—in Denver and on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. The renowned researchers and award-winning faculty of CU Denver offer 132 degree programs through 13 colleges and schools. In 2010 the University was awarded more than $421 million in research grants and contracts. The new Anschutz Medical Campus includes over 5 million square feet of research, educational and clinical space on 227 acres. The Downtown Campus, located in the heart of the Denver’s commercial, cultural and recreational districts, is one of America's most vibrant urban centers, just steps from the Denver Center for Performing Arts, the LoDo District and the state capitol.

The Mechanical Engineering department, located on the Downtown Campus, offers a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering accredited by ABET as well as Master’s of Science (MS), Master’s of Engineering (ME), and Engineering and Applied Science Doctor of Philosophy (EAS-PHD) graduate degrees.
Job Responsibilities: The candidate will be expected develop an externally funded research program. The candidate will also be expected to develop and teach lecture and laboratory courses at all levels of Mechanical Engineering and advise student research.
Required Qualifications: The candidate must have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and have demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Engineering as evidenced by the candidate’s publication record.
