One PhD Graduate Research Assistant Position

A Graduate Research Assistant Position are available for U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents who have completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and wish to pursue Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Spring 2016. We will also consider outstanding students who have completed their B.S. degree and want to directly pursue their Ph.D. degree starting.

 

The research topic is on Modeling and Simulation using Finite Elements. FE modeling skills of Abaqus, Ansys or other related FE software are preferred. Knowledge of Matlab or other programs is a plus.

 

Candidates are expected to have obtained GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate study and 3.5 or higher for graduate study for admission to our Ph.D. program. Students in our Ph.D. program are expected to complete 24 credits of graduate course work beyond the master’s degree or 45 credits beyond the baccalaureate. It typically requires 3 years beyond the master degree to complete these requirements. The detailed information could be found in the following link:
