Hi,
Can someone comment on using libraries in Abaqus subroutines?

My two cents worth...
Andrew,
In my very limited experience using Abaqus UMATs I've found it very difficult to use external libraries in the subroutines. Because you didn't give any examples of what constitutes a 'library', I'll try to fill in the blanks. For my UMATs, I generally take the 'libraries' (like tensor class modules, global constant definitions, yield surface modules, etc) and just concatenate them all into one file meant for use with Abaqus. That way I can get all the benefits of developing with multiple files, but I don't have to deal with trying to get the external libraries sorted out.
However, I suspect that you were asking about libraries like boost or some linear algebra library. I've never done it before and, considering the trouble I had with my external modules mentioned above, I personally wouldn't even try.
