Reciprocal magnetic field

Submitted by Timm A Vanderelli on

If one takes powdered iron filings and sprinkles them on top of a sheet of paper with a magnet close underneath, they align to produce a typical pattern we've  all come to recognize as the magnetic B-field.

What would the pattern look like if it was inverted?

The reciprocal of the field, so to speak.

Could it also be described as the A-field?
