Michael McAlpine (University of Minnesota) and Xuanhe Zhao (MIT) will receive the 2015 EML Young Investigator Award honoring the best paper published in Extreme Mechanics Letters by a young scientist in 2014 or 2015. Michael is being recognized for his paper, "Pyro-paraelectricity,” which was published in the March 2015 issue of the journal. Xuanhe is awarded for the paper, "Predicting Fracture Energies and Crack-Tip Fields of Soft Tough Materials,” which was published in the September 2015 issue of the journal. The award will be presented at the EML reception during the 2015 MRS Fall Meeting (Location: Sheraton Boston Hotel, Gardner, 3rd Floor; Date: Wednesday, December 2, 2015, Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm).
