Dear colleagues

As part of the 12th World Congress on Computational Mechanics (WCCM XII) and 6th Asia-Pacific Congress on Computational Mechanics (APCOM VI) which will be held in Seoul, Korea on 24-29 Jul 2016, we will be organizing mini-symposium MS610 titled “Multi-resolution Modeling with Generalized Continua”.

The goal of this mini-symposium is to bring together researchers working with the Generalized Continua theory to characterize the micro-processes with additional (higher-order) fields, and to incorporate their collective influence on the global response. With this objective in mind, we invite contributions in (but not limited to) the following topics:

Theoretical and/or numerical framework of generalized continua, e.g.

· Non-local, strain gradient formulations

· Cosserat, Coupled stress, Micromorphic theories

Applications with complex material behavior, e.g.

· Damage and fracture

· Size dependent behavior

·Wave propagation

· Poromechanics

· Hierarchical materials

Scale-bridging framework with generalized continua, e.g.

· Multiscale computational methods

· Homogenization techniques

· Discrete – continuum coupling

The deadline for abstraction submission is 30 Dec 2015. Instructions on the abstract submission can be found at http://wccm2016.org
