Ph. D student and Post-doc researcher are needed

Positions of one Ph.D student and one Post-doc researcher are now open in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) to work on NSF and DoD funded projects. We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates who are experienced in solid and structural mechanics, composites, and materials science. Specifically, candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

1. Mechanical and material experiments (Coupon tests under material testing machine, SEM, etc.)

2. Numerical simulations (Finite Element simulations of instability, XFEM, and constitutive modeling)

3. Mechanical modeling on CNTs and CNT composites

4. Generalized continuum theories (Micro-polar elasticity, non-local elasticity and plasticity etc.)

5. Innovative design and 3D printing

6. Auxetic materials and or materials with negative stiffness
