Post doctoral position at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Topic - A multiphysics modeling of electroactive polymers

Mahmood Jabareen's picture

Due to their large deformation capability, electroactive polymers are promising materials for several engineering applications. They can be used, for example, as actuators and sensors in artificial muscles, biomedical devices, microrobots, pumps, valves, etc. The research in this emerging field focuses in the multiphysics modeling of electroactive polymers and combines many aspects of structural mechanics, composite materials (for modeling composite electroactive polymers), and failure mechanisms of structural components and materials. Specifically, the research addresses broad spectrum of challenges with methodologies that range from basic theoretical and analytical modeling to advanced finite element formulations.

Young and excellent researchers that have the required educational background (PhD in civil, mechanical or, aerospace engineering), and a strong background in the following fields: structural mechanics, continuum mechanics and finite elements are encouraged to apply by sending to Assistant Prof. Mahmood Jabareen (cvjmah@technion.ac.il) the following:

1. CV (including a list of publications)

2. names of at least two references

3. brief description of how your experience and background meet the requirements for this position

 Eligibility criteria

Applicants must have been awarded a doctoral degree within two years of submission of their application. They should have at least two scientific publications in a peer-reviewed journal. Applications not complying with the eligibility criteria will be rejected on formal grounds.
