Topic: 3D Reconstruction and Homogenization of Composites

 DESCRIPTION: This minisymposium aims to facilitate meaningful exchange of ideas between experts engaged in various aspects of research related to the three-dimensional structure and mesoscale mechanics of composite material. Topics of interest include the following:

·         Novel 3-D characterization methods for mesoscale structure of composite materials

·         Protocols for identification and/or construction of representative volume elements for composites

·         Microstructure-sensitive modeling and design of composite materials

·         Microstructure reconstruction of composite material using statistical techniques

·         Experimental reconstruction of  composites using x-ray computed tomography

·         Microstructure hull for composites

·         Multiscale homogenization of composites

·         Effect of microstructure percolation on effective properties of composites

·         Homogenization of reconstructed RVE

Interested authors should submit abstract(s) using the abstract template provided on the conference website at                     https://cdmhub.org/groups/asc2017
