Seeking a PhD position for Material Mechanics
Hi All,
I am a mechanical engineer with post-graduate qualification in materials engineering, and with 13 years of experience in the engineering design and simulation industry developing world class CAD / CAE software. I am currently on the lookout for challenging PhD positions in the materials mechanics domain where I can exercise the diversity of my skills and knowledge in a multidisciplinary environment.
My major motivation for pursuing a masters degree in materials engineering was a fascination for mechanics of material plasticity. I was fascinated by metal forming processes, and the underlying complex deformation phenomena influenced by large forces and high temperatures. Being able to computationally simulate these processes and gain further insight about material behavior is what I foresee doing extensively in the future. My interests lie in the nano/micromechanics, nanocomposites, multiscale modeling, manufacturing of high performance materials and engineering software development.
My masters research was based on simulation of elastomeric auxetic microstructures. The publication can be viewed here: http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0095244314526736?rss=1&
My objective is to pursue a career in academics or full time research related to computational material mechanics. I also envision uplifting of society my educating the underprivileged, and also on integrating technologies and domains to develop new solutions in engineering design / product design.
Thank you.
