Assistant Professor-Mechanical Engineering (Position# 11058)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. Applications from candidates in mechanical engineering and related fields will be considered. Individuals with a proven track record in research areas including controls, systems engineering, mechatronics, autonomous systems, solid mechanics and/or experimental fluids-thermal research are encouraged to apply.

The candidate must have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Engineering as evidenced by the candidate’s publication and funding record.

Review of applications will begin November 31, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled. The position is expected to begin August 2018.

When applying, applicants must include:

1.      A letter of application which specifically addresses the job requirements and outlines qualifications, including how you envision collaborating within the department and University.

2.      A current CV/resume. Please include a clear listing of the number of peer reviewed journal articles and number of grants. 

3.      The names, addresses, daytime telephone numbers and e-mail addresses for three professional references.

4.      A one-page statement of teaching philosophy.

5.    A one-page research plan.
