PhD position in Computational Material Sciences
The Simulation Science Center Clausthal/Göttingen offers a PhD position for 3 years in the area of Computational Material Sciences with the research topic „Pressure induced phase transition and plasticity in ironcarbon alloys“. Tasks include research in material science, in particular atomistic simulations of iron-carbon systems under high pressure to evaluate the influence of carbon on strength and material embrittlement.
Requirements for employment are a Master degree (or equivalence) in the area of Material science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related studies.
Knowledge in the field of material simulation as well as programming and very good command of English language is required. German language skills would be helpful.
We offer the possibility to obtain a doctoral degree. The salary group is E13-TVL 100%. The SWZ is a workplace in a creative, interdisciplinary and flexible environment and is one of the leading institutions in the promising field of multiscale simulation.
