First International Conference on Materials, Mimicking, Manufacturing from and for Bio Applications

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am co-organizing a mini-symposium entitled Mechanics of bio-inspired architected materials and interfaces within the “First International Conference on Materials, Mimicking, Manufacturing from and for Bio Applications” (http://biomm.org) with Gilles Lubineau (KAUST) and Pablo D. Zavattieri (Purdue University). 


This symposium welcomes contributions highlighting the general principles underlying the mechanics of bio-inspired architected materials and structural interfaces. Discussions held will cover a variety of topics, however the focus will be upon application-oriented problems through which recent progress and remaining issues in the modeling, design optimization and fabrication of these materials are highlighted. Further details are given in the attached symposium description.

The BioM&M Conference will be held in Milan (Italy), June 27 – 29, 2018. We would like to cordially invite you to join us and submit an abstract. If you are interested in the symposium, please note that the abstract submission deadline is January 31st, 2018.
