Tie constraints to model bonded surfaces in Abaqus

This question had been asked here before but with no answer, unfortunately..so I copied it exactly as I run into exactly the same. Your comment appreciated

Dear all,

I would like to represent a perfect bond between two steel solids by means of an adhesive composite compound, treated as a solid layer (as first attempt). I defined in Abaqus CAE two tie constraits : 

1. Master surf: Bottom steel solid top surface ; Slave surf: adhesive layer bottom surface
2. Master surf: adhesive layer top surface ; Slave surf: top steel solid bottom surface

This bond should represent a reinforcement on a ship structure, subjected to traction loads.

From the results, it seems that the tie constraint that I have defined doesn't work well. 

Could someone suggest me how to define properly this bond? Shall I have to specify initial conditions at all nodes involved in the constaint and how could I do?
