PhD positions in the areas of soft robots, printed electronics, and bioinspired materials are available now in the Laboratory of Soft Machines & Electronics at the School of Packaging and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Michigan State University.

Candidates with background in solid mechanics, nonlinear mechanics of soft (active) materials, finite element analysis (FEA), deformable/wearable electronics, biomedical devices design, 3D/4D printing, or polymer physics are especially encouraged to apply. Experience in development of surgical robots and medical device design is highly desirable. Skills in using ABAQUS and SolidWorks is a plus.
