Well...What is their advantages and disadvantages among tensile test, compressive test and torsion test?

The different stress status
In the mechanics of materials, the stress status of the different tests were given clear illustration. For the tensile test, the stress status is uniaxial stress, which is positive. And the compressive test is also uniaxial stress, however,it is negertive. And the torsion test is the pure shear and has no normal stress.
