PhD position in computational solid mechanics

A PhD position is available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The research project is in the multiscale modeling of damage and fracture. Candidates should have a strong background and interests in continuum mechanics and finite elements modeling. Programming experience in Fortran or C++ is a big plus.
