Scientist position (phase field, melting and solidification) at the A*STAR Institute of High Performance Computing in Singapore

The Institute of High Performance Computing, member of Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), is seeking taletend researchers to fill a position of Scientist.

The job scope is numerical modeling of wire-feed additive manufacturing of metals. The numerical method of choice is the phase field method.

Please refer to the following requirements:

  • PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines
  • deep knowledge of the phase field method and its numerical implementation, including schemes such as the Runge-Kutta method
  • deep knowledge of solid/liquid phase transition, heat transfer, latent heat
  • excellent programming skills (C++ language)
  • good publication track record
  • good interpersonal skills and natural team player

Domain knowledge of the additive manufacturing process is appreaciable but not mandatory. Deep knowledge in the phase field method is significantly more relevant. Interested applicants please send me your resume at vastolag@ihpc.a-star.edu.sg .
