Dear Colleagues: Our Department of Mechanical Engineering at CU-Boulder is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as the new Chair. We are undergoing a period of unprecedented faculty growth and expansion to match an ambitious vision of research and teaching excellence. For example, the number of faculty has increased from 32 to over 50 since 2014. Our program is ranked in the top 20 public universities, located in one of the top three entrepreneurial cities in the country, and co-located with US national labs: NIST, NCAR, NOAA and NREL. Our vision and other exciting news are posted at https://www.colorado.edu/mechanical/about-us. Our faculty are truly outstanding and we expect to move to another level of excellence if the new chair can enhance our external connections with other ME departments, industry, alumni and donors.
