PhD and PostDoc Positions in Computational Biomechanics at NJIT
A PhD research assistant (RA) position and a Postdoc position in Biomedical Engineering (BME) are immediately available at the BioDynamics Laboratory directed by Dr. Xianlian Alex Zhou. The lab’s research is focused on computational biomechanics, biorobotics, digital human modeling, and personalized medicine. More details are available at Dr. Zhou’s website: web.njit.edu/~alexzhou.
The ideal candidates shall have strong background or experience in one of the following areas: computational mechanics, robot control and simulation, high-performance computing, and machine learning. Candidates with experience in multiple areas above and interest in studying human motion, injury, disability and rehabilitation, are encouraged to apply.

The BME department offers a joint PhD program in collaboration with Rutgers University, in which students enrolled in either institution receive a joint diploma.
Minimum Requirements for PhD candidates:
The minimum TOEFL score required is 79 for the Internet-based exam, 213 for the computer-based exam, or 550 for the paper-based exam.
A minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-score lower than 6.0 is required for the IELTS exam.
Minimum GRE quantitative score is 157.
A BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanics, or related fields.
