PhD positions in meta-materials and computational mechanics at Kansas State Univesity

PhD positions in the area of meta-materials, computational mechanics and wave propagation available in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Kansas State University. Research will be in topics related to the mechanics of meta-structures and the mechanics of amorphous or granular media.

We are a new group investigating fundamental and exotic wave phenomena in artificially engineered structures for potential applications in energy harvesting, impact mitigation, communications, damage detection, tunable and adaptive machines. The work will be a combination of theory, simulation and experiments focused on investigating physical phenomena for potential engineering applications.

For more details on research, please visit Dr. Pal's website: https://sites.google.com/view/rajkumarpal/home

Candidates will gain expertise in computational methods, finite element methods, dynamics, solid mechanics and wave physics.

Interested candidates are encouraged to email their CV to Dr. Pal (rkpal@ksu.edu) with the subject "PhD position".
