FACULTY POSITION (TENURE-TRACK) IN THERMAL-FLUID SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Mississippi (“Ole Miss” Campus) is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position in the area of thermal-fluid sciences and engineering, with an anticipated starting date of January 20, 2020 or thereafter.  We are seeking a candidate at the Assistant Professor level who has potential to develop an excellent track record in teaching, research, and service.   

Founded in 1848, University of Mississippi is a flagship university located in Oxford, MS.The Ole Miss has been voted as the No. 1 best beautiful college campus in the nation by the USA Today in 2016.  The town of Oxford has also been named several times as one of the top college towns, praising the town’s genteel atmosphere, cultural and social opportunities, and abundance of outdoor activities. 

We seek an outstanding scholar who demonstrates a clear vision and plan to successfully establish fundamental and competitively funded research programs in areas: computational modeling and simulation in fluid mechanics and heat transfer with a strong emphasis on turbulent flows with DNS and LES, chemically reacting complex flows, multi-phase/phase changing flows, nano-scale thermal transport, and other emerging areas with high scholarly impact.  A doctorate in Mechanical, Aerospace or a closely related Science/Engineering field is required. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to the core undergraduate and graduate teaching missions of the department, and to engage in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities.
