hi all,
I am currently a PhD research student at the University of Sheffield in United Kingdom and will graduate in October in 2008. My current research project is to employ the finite element modelling to investigate the structural behavior in a fire situation, targeting to understand the Robustness of Steel Connection in Fire. In the research scheme, some high experimental tests have been conducted at the University of Sheffield, which is to provide an insight into the performance of steel connections. Finally, the simplified model is going to be presented at the end of next year in order to simulate the connection performance. This project is cooperated with the University of Manchester and funded by EPSRC in UK.
Through this PhD project, my resarch skills and research knowledge in structural engineering and finite element modelling has been fully developed. Thereby i am looking for some post-doc research or job opportunities in Finite Element modelling or civil engineering in the United States, in order to improve my research knowledge in these fields.
