The Department of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences is seeking to appoint a

 

 

W3 Professorship in

Mechanics (m/f/d) 

to start as soon as possible.

 

We are looking for an internationally recognized researcher with demonstrated excellence through high-ranking publications and comprehensive knowledge of mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of mechanical systems and innovative materials potentially addressing applications in civil and environmental engineering. In addition to a very good degree in natural sciences, mathematics or engineering, an outstanding doctorate, didactic experience in university-level teaching and very good English language skills are expected.

 

The professorship is expected to strengthen the University’s research focus Future City and cooperate closely with the institutes of the department and the members of the MUSEN Centre in current and future joint projects. In research-oriented teaching, the professorship will actively participate in the Bachelor and Master degree programmes of the department. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding (in particular DFG) is assumed, as is willingness to participate in academic self-administration.

The requirements of the position are defined in Section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz).

A part-time appointment may be possible on request.
