Open Position: Theoretical and Applied Mechanics/ Engineering Science, CUBoulder

Department: The student can choose to enroll in the Material Science & Engineering Program, or in the Engineering Science program within the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering

Focus Area: Experimental and theoretical solid mechanics

Financial Support: Full Tuition Coverage and Stipend

Start Date: Fall 2020

 

We are seeking a PhD student to work in a funded graduate research assistant (GRA) position at the University of Colorado Boulder (CUBoulder). The GRA will perform experimental and theoretical mechanics research on the thermomechanical behavior of 1) bonded granular materials and 2) porous cellular materials with the scope of energy and defense applications. Candidates should have a background in continuum mechanics and experimental solid mechanics. The GRA will work in a team of other graduate students and in close collaboration with national laboratory scientists.
